Silversmithing Day Class
Posted on August 23 2016
We have an occasional Sunday silversmithing class run by Stef, Peculiar Vintage's designer-maker. We offer an 'introduction to silversmithing' using traditional handcrafted techniques.
The day runs from 10am to 3-4pm with a maximum of 2 people at the benches. Cost (£70 pp) includes silver metal, use of all the equipment and tutoring from Stef. You will finish the day off wearing a piece of jewellery you have selected to make. If you are interested in booking a space on your own or with a partner, please email or call us on 01273 660803.
Some background on Stef:
Raised in South East Asia, Stef ended up in the UK to finish her degree at The Surrey Institute of Art and design. Her first experience with jewellery making came during a hiatus from London where she was managing a well established vintage shop in Camden. During her solo trip to South America, she met curious street artisans along the way, which sparked her interest in jewellery making. Inspired, Stef retuned to London and immediately enrolled at The Metropolitan University with Sir John Cass to study Jewellery Making and Design for 2 years. She debuted her first collection 'Curio' based on vintage curiosities (wax carved and metal etched). In 2014, Stef was able to evolve the business into a gallery and workshop space on Baker Street, Brighton.
